Quotes can fall into many categories by topic, author or type of author. Quotes that are categorized by topic have only 40 types of different topics. If we talk about quotes categorized into author's or type of author's there are to many. People can write quotes about pretty much everything that we can think of. There are quotes about time, war, humor, and imagination only to name a few.
An example of a quote about time is by William Penn,"Time is what we want, but what we use worst." Another type of quote is about war which is,"If it's natural to kill, how come men have to go into training to learn how?" by Joan Baez. Many of these quotes make you think and to me these quotes I just specifically stated are true and sad. A lot and I would say pretty much all quotes that we see and hear have different types of emotion in them which I would say it is the reason why some are really appealing to us.
An example of a humorous quote is,"Humor brings insight and tolerance. Irony brings a deeper and less friendly understanding," by Agnes Reppepplier. An example of and imagination quote is, "There are no rules of architecture for a castle in the clouds," by Gilbert K. Chesterton. Quotes in different topics can make you feel down and other up and relaxed. For example, the qoute is the previous paragraph are more down than the quotes above which make you feel better.Quotes are many things and that to me it is amazing because I never knew that before and now I know what quotes can do.

Leslie,
what are the 40 different types of topics because you mentioned it in the second sentence of your blog? why do you think that there are too many categories of authors and types of authors? what do you mean by types of authors?
what do you think William Penn is trying to say by this? i agree with this quote because most people waste their time and end up doing things last minute. i am not saying that everyone does things last minute but there are people out there that do things last minute.
There are only 40 topics exactly?
wow. I thought there would for sure be more about quotes but I guess not.
Isn't William Penn the man who started the Quaker religion?
One thing I love about quotes is that they have such a wonderful way of making you think about the meaning and how it applies to life. The second quote about killing got me thinking about the act of killing itself.
It is said to be something that can be done with a single act, without thought, emotion, or much trouble. So, in a sense, it can come naturally to a person.
But then many people (i.e. soldiers) go through training and learn how to use fancy, automatic, mechanical weapons to kill people at an alarming rate, speed, amount, etc. Something that came naturally without much thought all of a sudden becomes this complicated procedure that might even kill you in the process.
So much thinking from only 16 words.
Leslie,
GREAT JOB!
In my opinion, your next blog should be about what you mentioned that there are 40 different types of topics.
For me, qoutes are actually interesting and inspiring because at one point every indivdual takes some time off to see how a specific qoute applys to them.
40 types, ey? Woah.
Quotes are amazing. They are composed of just a small amount of words, yet they hold so much meaning. It's just incredible.
William Penn? He sounds familiar. oh, yeah, he was the one who formed the Quaker group. He said that?! Wow, i would've never guessed.
I am anxious to see what else you can come up with.
Leslie,
That quote about time really reached out to me. It is really what we do want. Without wanting you appealed to my pathos and got me in a rushing mode. I need to do homework quickly. Or was it on purpose? That's the power of one quote huh? They can make us realize things and make us start doing them, or stop doing them whichever it might be.
Hey there,
Are you sure there are 40 different types of topics? I don't know if it is because i am tired in commenting or is everything you just posted skeptical. Whatever it may be good job in your blog and i hope that next time you choose something interesting.
I could help you by starting off asking you this, Is a quote as good if it is translated? For example, what happens if this quote is to be translated into spanish would it be as good as the original. "Ignorance slays the poor ,Ambition kills the rich." You tell me.
Hello Leslie,
First of all i would like to say Happy New YearS!
Howd u spent it ?
lol
Well as i read your blog i was noticing how your blog is one of the few that truly makes me think. This is probably because of the quotes you use throughout your blog. Quotes are truly magnificent. A chain of words that hold a deep meaning. It is astounding how they can change the mood of someone as well as there way of thinking.
As i carefully read your blog one of the quotes you used caught my attention. This quote was "time is what we want but what we use worst". This quote is really deep don't you think? This quote really made me ponder and say i agree. It might be the most comforting truth but never the less it makes sense. Time never stops and we always ask for me, even though we never use it as efficiently as we should be.
Hello,
Wow so there is actually 40 types of quotes? I would guessed more but hey thats how topics are. I wanna know what source you got this information from. Because there may be more who knows. Hey thanks for finding my blog a way to learn new stuff. Maybe next time you can tell me about words that you may feel that you need help on and may help others too.
Now the quote that stood out the most like it did to others was the one about war in a way he is right. To kill why do soldiers need to go through intense training just to kill each other. But then if you think about it they have to go through all of that to gain stamina, accuracy, being able to hide, and all other essential things to go out to war. But yeah i think you should do your next blog on the idea that there is 40 types of quotes. And maybe each blog write a little bit of each one. Anyways great job and i learned that there is 40 types of quotes from your blog
