Are Quotes Really Significant?

When it come to quotes you don't really ever pay attention to if it is a really good quote. If it weren't a really good quote then it wouldn't be out there in the first place, right. I guess what I am trying to say is when is it that a quote is significant. To me a quote is significant when you hear it and it sends or gives you a message that you cannot forget. A quote that relates to you and helps a person out. Quotes can be significant to some people and not to others. I've been hearing about that not all quotes seem to be inspirational or good, but just as a reminder I am focusing on the topic of cool quotes. Not all quotes seem to fit in the same category of succeeding, but some are to make someone feel better and not as if they don't have a chance at something.

A quote I will like to share out is, "Excellence is not an act, but a habit."To me this quote is saying that trying to become better at something isn't something that you do, but it is something that is already in you and you will always try to make it. It is surprising that such a small quote can mean something big to person. Take for example the quote above. Quotes can be long, short any way that you like, but just know that they all contain a message that makes a person think about and do the right thing instead of making the wrong choice.

Thinking about it this reminds me about the double entry journals that we need to do in the 11th grade Humanities class. We pick 5- 10 quotes from the reading Freakonomics and next to them we make an analysis and the response we write out turns out to e longer than the quote we choose. Sometimes you just don't need to talk about what the quote means to you, but sometimes you can make connections that lead to the quote or the quote sometimes leads. Cool Quotes can lead a person to really big things and that is good because then it means that the quote was really significant to the person that connected to it.
