What are Quotes?

Quotes are phrases that can be interpret in many different ways to many people. I've been speaking of familiar quotes that we've may of heard of and what those quotes mean to me. In really I don't know what a quote can mean to another person that isn't me. We all have different perspectives of things and especially when it comes to quotes. A quote can be the same, but it can mean something good for one person and something bad for another.
One quote is "What really matters is what you do with what you have" by H.G Wells. It all depends on what you understand from the quote. For example, to me it could be saying that what am I going to do with my life. All the things that I am going or have in life what am I going to do with that for my future.
Quotes can be confusing which is maybe one of the reasons we have very different views about them. If you pay close attention to what it is saying you can be asking yourself questions. For example, in the quote above what can they be talking about with saying "what you have". It can be your cell phone, your pet, or your education. This is something I ask myself, but you tell me what does it mean to you?

Leslie,

for me a quote means a phrase that is trying to tell you something but it is not telling you straight out. a quote has to make a person think and think really hard. true, there are some people who do not understand a quote even if their lives depended on it. there are other people who can easily see what the person was trying to say with the quote. i am in between because there are some quotes that i can easily understand but there are other quotes that i have trouble with. there are other people who have the same problem.

Leslie excellent blog, As to your quote i believe it means to make the best of anything you have, by this i meant to make everything count. Now that is just how i individually interpret this quote. I believe quotes are special. Why? You may ask yourself; well they are words that people themselves say they have special meanings, which can be interpreted, in millions of ways. Fascinating isn’t it, what a couple words can mean to individuals. I believe it is so that a quote depending on its complex city can make you think, reminisce, or and ponder.

Wow. Nice quote, it really does enlighten somethings. I believe your quote is the sort to make an impact on people and change the way people may look at things.

I recommend that you look into Lance Armstrong's quote on pain. I may be wrong but its something like pain is temporary but failure is a life's worth. I don't know.

But all in all, excellent blog. Why this quote?

Hey Leslie,
You have a point ...... one quote can have multiple meanings to different people. But why choose the quote you chose. In my point of view for me it means that you should take advantage of what you have... what's around and learn how to use it well because it may help you when you need it the most. An example of this would be: Take advantage of your computer because you may learn something from it you will use in the future. A quote that could mean the same thing as the one you gave is this:Life is like playing a violin in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.
This quote could mean the same thing but as you said it can mean an entirely different thing to somebody else. I would like to hear from you what do you think this quote means in your point of view. Anyways great job I think that maybe I could learn great quotes from your blog that maybe I can take with me on my journey to success. Enough said great job and I hope to read more from you

Hello leslie,
I liked the way you explained your quote and how it ment to you and yes people have different views on a quote because it makes them think about their own points of views and how they see it. I also agree that some quotes are confusing because we dont know what the author is talking about. Anyways good job with the blog and would like to keep in touch and see more quotes from you.

Well i like your blog. I like how you explain your quoate. That is real helpfull to a reader. There is so much to learn about kool quotes.

However, I think you should write a little more. I think instead of putting only one example you should put atleast 3. you should explain the similarities and differences of a quote.

Sincerely: Hugo

Dear Leslie,
I agree with you on that quotes mean different things to all of us. The reason behind it is because we have different experiences and we see this world in a different pint of view. And for me the quote, “What really matter is what you do with what you have.” To me it means that you could do as much as you can with the very little you have, you could do something extraordinary all you have to do is use it well. I also agree that many quotes are very confusing, and that’s why we get a different message, and not the actual meaning of it.
Sincerely,

Dear Vanessa,
I guess the poem means that we all have a goal, and we try to reach it, but not all the time our first time or try will result in achievement. And when he looses conscious is when we all have problem(s) or any conflict(s) that drives us out of control and we can’t handle it, like some people say, “Living in hell,” when you know what’s happening around you, but your not able to put everything together in your mind. Everything seems more difficult than it already is. This is how I see the poem. I like to compliment you on your choice in poetry.
Sincerely,
Masyeli M.
